Rayza

Rayza is a 3D platformer where you play as Rayza, a unique hybrid of porcupine, gorilla, and lemur. Your mission is to navigate platforming challenges and collect letters scattered throughout the level. The twist? The letters aren’t in order, so you’ll need to piece together the correct word at the door to progress. Platform, battle enemies, and collect items in this quirky adventure!

This game was created for a school assignment. While I’m proud of the effort I put into it, I acknowledge its flaws. The inclusion of a Caesar-cipher mechanic might feel a bit out of place in a platformer, but it was part of the assignment requirements. It’s also buggy, and I haven’t fixed everything since finishing the project. 

That said, I genuinely enjoyed making this game and poured a lot of time and effort into it. I hope you enjoy this little passion project for what it is.

Controls

• W A S D or arrow keys: Move
• Spacebar: Jump or double jump (hold longer for a higher jump)
• Shift: Sprint
• I: Open/close HUD
• Left mouse button: Light attack
• Hold left mouse button: Heavy attack
• E (in mid-air): Back-slam
• Hold right mouse button: Block

Known Issues

Here are a few bugs to be aware of. These might get fixed in future updates—time will tell!

• Combat System: The combat mechanics aren’t very satisfying right now. Fights often come down to “who hits first wins.” Not ideal, and something I’d definitely improve in future versions.
• Sliding Bug: On certain cliffs, the player can either get stuck in a sliding animation or be launched into the air unexpectedly.
• Back-Slam Bug: Back-slamming from a tall height sometimes causes the player to play the wrong landing animation.
• Broken Credits: The credits button doesn’t take you to the credits menu. When I was publishing the game, I somehow forgot to set the button to load the correct scene. Oops!
